We finally made it to Seattle! We got to our hotel by the airport about 11:00 EST which makes it 8:00 PST.

We’re waiting for a pizza.

It was a long day, but good. Why in the world did we fly from Orlando to Philadelphia then to Seattle? That was long! So we watched one of the Harry Potter movies (not a great plane movie), I got some more reading done on Blue Like Jazz (I’m diggin’ this book), and some sleep. We left our house about 9:30 AM EST. But we’re here; trading the 100 mph rains for just plain old cool rain (it’s about 55 outside).

One strange observation I had today though on the airplane…you know those locks they have to hold the table to the chair on the back of each seat on the plane? Why does it have a hanger hook on it? Does anyone actually hang anything on that so that it’s draping on your knees? But overall it was a decent flight. We’re here so it’s all good.

Anyway, tomorrow we plan to head out to where we’ll be staying in Canada to settle in this weekend.

  • Hey Rob! Glad you made it to Seattle intact. Kind of weird to have a Harry Potter movie on a flight, I would think. If you’re digging Blue Like Jazz, then no doubt you’ll love this insightful review of it — from one of your favorite authors (and one of mine as well).

Missed you at IEC but met one of your Campus Crusade colleagues, who credits you for showing Campus Crusade the value of a blog. Good job.

I received this comment via email:

In ‘the good old days’, the tray locks on the plane have those hooks to hang an ‘Occupied’ sign. While your flight was on the ground, waiting for the next leg, you could get off the plane and go into the terminal. To keep your seat, you hung the little sign. Haven’t seen one in 25 years.
