Overhead phone conversation in the office this week:

…okay, can I speak with your manager?

Do you have a supervisor?

Well who do you report to?

You’re telling me you don’t report to anyone?

Are you the president of Toshiba?

We’ve all been in customer service purgatory at one time or another.
