I was shocked to see this hawk on the fence tonight. I went outside to cover the grill and there he was. I ran back inside and grabbed the camera. I only have 3x zoom. He let me up real close.
Amazing.
He stayed there for at least 10 minutes that I know of. He was beautiful as he flew off too.

UPDATE: I finally did some research and believe this is a Red-Shouldered Hawk . They can be 17-24 inches tall. I was guessing this guy was 18-24 inches when I took this photo.
