I’m dealing with a lot of stuff right now — most of which I’m not going to go into. But the topic of this post is about the fall. Autumn.
The fall is my favorite time of year. This will be my sixth of seven fall seasons in Orlando. And you know what? The fall in Orlando is horrible. We continue to have tropical weather such as hurricanes, tropical storms, and tropical disturbances. What that means is it’s still hot and humid. Sure, it’s not the 95 degree/90% humidity like in July. But it’s 85/75 now.
Gone are the cool, crisp days that I love. Maybe ‘gone’ is the wrong word. They never show up here. Well, they sort of do in February. Orlando is awesome in February. But fall never comes on in full force here.
Thankfully last fall I spent it in Vancouver and I really got to experience my favorite season again for the first time in years. Claire tells me it’s just like I remembered. Leah reminds me of what we did this weekend last year.
I need to get out of here and find me some fall. I just don’t know where to go…or afford to get there.
For now I’ll just have to settle for a virtual autumn through photos and air conditioning.
