t.o. tried suicide

Whoa, hold up!

Breaking News is coming out that Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens attempted to kill himself last night by overdosing on pain medication.

A Dallas police report released Wednesday morning said Owens told his friend “that he was depressed.” [...] Owens was asked by rescue workers “if he was attempting to harm himself, at which time (he) stated, ‘Yes.”‘

Listen to ESPN’s Mike and Mike in the Morning audiocast this morning.

To be perfectly blunt, I’m not shocked. And I don’t mean that as anything mean or judgemental towards TO. What I mean is that facades can be and are very strong and deceiving.

More on this as it comes…

UPDATE: In a press conference today, TO denies he attempted suicide and that he is not depressed.

  • If it was a suicide attempt, I doubt the hospital would have released him. Any suicide attempt is taken very seriously.

Ralph, I'm glad too. I'm not a TO fan, really, but I sure would hate to see that actually happen.

Kevin doesn't believe TO. I tried to comment on his post but it didn't work. What I wanted to say was:

Yeah, I don't know what to make of this. It certainly is plausible that TO wasn't with it when the cops asked questions. No telling what he said.

But what struck me in the press conference is that she denied the whole thing about depression. That I don't buy.

I am glad he did not succeed.
  • His attempt at suicide makes me sad. It's so easy for people to look okay on the outside and for noone to every really know what's on the insdie. I hope he get's some help.
