I haven’t really heard any Jamaican updates (besides wet and windy and some stuff down which is to be expected). The southern coast looks to have a taken a beating since the eye wall stayed a few miles south of the island. Hopefully that’s good news for the north. But being 50 miles wide, I’m sure it didn’t make much of a difference (but could be the difference in 145 mph winds and 125 mph I guess).
So Dean is now ready to take on the Cayman Islands and the Yucatan/Belize. And what’s worse it I won’t be shocked if Dean becomes a Cat 5 before slamming Mexico.
UPDATE: Watched a short video from Kingston. Reports of damage should come in today as light breaks.
