June 1. Yay. It’s officially the start of the 2008 Hurricane Season.

So I’ve added a widget to the sidebar of this blog to help track the storms. And I’ll probably post updates about new storms as they have any effect (or is it affect?) the sandbar we like to call Florida.

2008 tropical storm names this year will be: Arthur, Bertha, Cristobal, Dolly, Edouard, Fay, Gustav, Hanna, Ike, Josephine, Kyle, Lili, Marco, Nana, Omar, Paloma, Rene, Sally, Teddy, Vicky, Wilfred

Good resources for Atlantic hurricanes include FLHurricane.com, The National Hurricane Center, Weather Underground, and WikiPedia.

You can also get some hurricane subscriptions that are worth it: The National Hurricane Center RSS, The National Hurricane Center eMail, tropical advisories from Weather Underground RSS, FLHurricane.com RSS, and FLHurricane.com Current Storms RSS.

Also if you’re on Twitter, you can follow twitter.com/hurricanes. And of course you can subscribe to just my hurricane updates via RSS or just get it all.

There’s plenty of other places, but those are some of my resources. Enjoy the season! 🙁

  • No mention of Arthur?

No. Probably could have mentioned he was out there but no threat to Florida. Oh well.
