Family Group Names Missing

I’m frustrated.  I realized that there are some names for family groups that are missing.  Sometimes the English language is just inadequate.

Immediate Family

A male child is a son
A female child is a daughter
Together they are children

A male parent is a father
A female parent is a mother
Together they are parents

A male grandparent is a grandfather
A female grandparent is a grandmother
Together they are grandparents

A male sibling is a brother
A female sibling is a sister
Together they are siblings

Extended Family

A male child of a sibling is a nephew
A female child of a sibling is a niece
Togther they are [nephews and nieces?]

A male sibling of a parent is an uncle
A feamle sibling of a parent is an aunt
Together they are [uncle and aunt?]

A male child of an [uncle and aunt] is a cousin
A femal child of an [uncle and aunt] is a cousin
Together they are [cousins?]

I wonder why it is that when it comes to the extended family, we don’t have the same generic, logical lanuage to describe them as we do for our immediate family?
